Finnlines’ new vessels operating between Finland and Sweden have been warmly welcomed – new menus and entertainment coming in spring 2025
Finnlines’ freight-passenger vessels Finnsirius and Finncanopus, which sail between mainland Finland, the Åland Islands and Sweden, broke the record for passenger travel in 2024. Passengers can look forward to new culinary delights and more entertainment during the spring of 2025.

The new vessels sailing on the route Naantali–Långnäs–Kapellskär have been warmly welcomed by passengers. Close to 1 million commercial and private passengers travelled on Finnlines’ four freight-passenger routes in 2024, as many as 400,000 on the route between Finland and Sweden. Compared with 2023, passenger travel increased by 35 per cent, on the Finland–Sweden route the figures more than doubled.
New flavours from nearby and faraway
When the spring arrives, passengers will have an opportunity to enjoy new culinary delights from local and global kitchens on the Finnsirius and Finncanopus. The menu in Micke’s à la carte restaurant will be renewed. The menu will introduce classic flavours with a French twist and the theme is to serve simple, but delicious food made of local high-quality ingredients. The restaurant will serve escargot dishes and baguette, whitefish or oxen tartare, French tarte à l’oignon or familiar classic dishes, like Entrecôte or pepper steak.
“The menu is based on classic French cuisine with a Nordic twist. We use superb ingredients, which are locally produced and of high quality. Those who prefer vegetarian options can order new dishes, like Shallot Tarte Tatin and French-inspired lentil stew. We also have fresh fish served in a Beurre Blanc sauce every day,“ says Dan Grönvall, Onboard Food Services Manager.
Children’s menu has also been renewed and it contains minute steak and salmon as well as cheeseburgers. The wine list has been updated with somelier Samuil Angelov to pair with the classic menu. Fisherman’s Bistro is a bit more relaxed venue to dine in. New salad options have been added and the number one favourite, Superstar Burger, will be complemented by a chicken burger with mango-jalapeño salsa or BBQ pork with French fries.
It should be noted that the café will serve the local delicacy, Åland pancake. New arrivals will also be available in the bar as the ship’s bartenders have created new cocktails and a “It’s Gin o’clock” drink menu to complement the Signature cocktails developed for Finnlines by Josephine Sondlo.
Entertainment for all ages during weekends
During the spring and summer, passengers can enjoy their voyage accompanied by atmospheric live music. On Friday and Saturday departures, the music serving will consist of classical tunes, light jazz and pop – something for every taste. On Thursdays there will be bingo and on certain Thursdays dancing. During the weekends, especially on Sundays, magicians, clowns and other performers entertain children on morning departures on the Naantali–Långnäs–Naantali Picnic cruises.
