Celebrate a memorable Christmas at sea

Christmas is a magical season at sea. This year Finnlines invites passengers travelling on all its ferries to unwind in a peaceful environment. Ships are decorated for Christmas, the buffet will feature beloved delicacies and atmospheric music will carry guests away from haste and hurry.

Live music and relaxing cruises

The ships on Finnlines’ Naantali–Långnäs–Kapellskär route offer facilities for pre-Christmas parties and a retreat for those who want to escape the Christmas stress. The Archipelago buffet serves delicacies from local producers and at Fisherman’s Bistro guests can taste Christmas-flavoured coffee and glögg. A traditional sauna and bubble bath in the Höyry (steam) Spa are the Christmas highlights. All this takes place in the Archipelago in the amidst of a fantastic winter scenery.

Passengers can listen to live music and just take it easy while tasting Season’s drinks in the glow of the fireplace in the Barrel Bay tapas bar. A large repertoire of music for every taste, ranging from evergreens to jazzy classics, played by top artists, is played on M/S Finncanopus on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening departures from Naantali, and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning departures from Kapellskär.

Special cruises during the period between Christmas and New Year’s Eve also offer live music. One way to close the year is to spend two nights onboard and one day in Sweden, alternatively stay onboard and enjoy the services and facilities onboard. Finnlines’ partners Matkapojat and Launokorpi have planned cruises with guided day trips in Sweden. Alternatively, explore Sweden on your own.

Christmas spirit to and from Germany

Ferries take you to the world-famous Christmas markets in Germany from Finland and Sweden. In Lübeck, the Christmas market tradition dates back to 1648. Today, there are eleven different markets, where you can buy arts and crafts or step into children’s fairyland. You can get into the Christmas mood as soon as the ship departs and you will have time to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and taste Christmas flavours in the buffet, café and bar.

During the holiday season, Finnlines’ travel partner Kristina Cruises arranges a relaxing ro-pax cruise over the Baltic Sea to Northern Germany, which has enchanting attractions. Kristina’s Christmas cruises on ro-pax  ships are a classic and this year the destination is the picturesque Stade near Hamburg.

You can also get into the Christmas mood on Finnlines’ routes between Malmö and Travemünde and Malmö and Świnoujście, Poland. The beautifully decorated ships adorned with twinkling Christmas trees, flavours and cheerful holiday music will create a memorable experience.
