New Extranet version 2.0 launched
The next generation of Finnlines’ freight booking service, the Extranet 2.0 application, was released and introduced for Finnlines’ Helsinki–Travemünde traffic on 30 September 2024. Both desktop and mobile interfaces of the application were upgraded to provide first class user experience.
Since Finnlines’ strategy is to keep up with the latest developments of digital services, Finnlines Freight Services decided to update the user interface of the Extranet.
The new Extranet application offers multilingual support in English, German, and Swedish, which ensures a seamless experience for users from diverse language backgrounds.
Fast response and clear communication enable efficient interactions and information exchange. The easy-to-use interface has been designed with a responsive design, which makes navigation and interaction intuitive across various devices and screen sizes.
The application offers real-time capacity calculation and up-to-date booking and allotment information. The application guides users to optimize their capacity usage effectively, providing valuable insights and recommendations.

Benefits for users
The main objective of the upgrade is to improve customer satisfaction and the new features make the application easy to use and give access to up-to-date freight situation on each departure. The feedback has been very positive and customers have been involved in developing the features even further.
Gradually implemented
Other Finnlines’ lines will enter the new environment in November 2024, and Finnlines aims to have all lines in the system by spring 2025.
